I was born in Efrat, to Naftali and Rivkah, who are both from the United States. And although my parents divorced, we all live near each other and both remarried to people who love me like their own. Now I am have blessed with even more brothers and sisters! I am committed to my faith and I try to set an example to others by living a pious life, and helping my mom around the house. I get up early to pray and try to keep my siblings from gossiping at the dinner table too. I study all the time - because I truly love to learn. Learning is my life. My mother says I’m pure of “heart and honesty” and my dad calls me the most “loving person.” My stepmom Leah says I’m “terrific” and my stepdad David calls me an “angel.” I’m a lucky kid! I attend the Mercaz HaRav Yeshiva, a religious school Jerusalem, considered to be one of the best - and I love studying Torah here.
On March 6, 2008 there was a special buzz in the air. That’s because Purim, a festive Jewish holiday, was about to start. My study partner and I were deeply engrossed in prayer when Palestinian terrorist Alaa Abu Dhein of Jerusalem, who regularly made deliveries to the school, walked into the library and opened fire with an AK-47. He shot randomly and indiscriminately. An endless stream bullets ensued for almost 20 minutes, it felt like an eternity. Finally, off-duty soldier ended the massacre by returning fire. As the smoke settled, I was lying dead in this holy place, and so were seven of my friends, some of them still clutching their prayers books. 11 more students were wounded.
My name is Avraham David Moses. I am 16 years old. And I am one of The Fallen Faces.
